SECOND ANNUAL UNF STUDENT PHILOSOPHY CONFERENCE
February 28-March 1,1997

The Department of History, Philosophy, and Religious Studies announces the
Second Annual University of North Florida Philosophy Conference for
undergraduate and graduate students.  The conference will take place
on the University of North Florida campus and will be hosted for the
second year by the UNF Philosophy Club.  It is a nation-wide conference
encompassing all areas of philosophical enquiry and interest, featuring
approximately a dozen student papers presented by students from all areas
of the country, as well as from Florida.  In addition, there will be two
keynote speakers.  Professor Joanne Waugh from the University of South
Florida will speak on Ancient Philosophy, and Professor Michael Zimmerman
from Tulane University will speak on issues in Environmental Ethics.

The deadline for paper submissions is January 15, 1997, and the length
should be a 30- to 40-minute reading time.  For information about the
conference, or for paper guidelines or submissions, contact Dr. Nancy
