Jennifer, I think this may be just another attempt by a man to denigrate
our feelings regarding pornography. Pornography is not just displaying the
female form, it is doing so in a way that is degrading. Women are
displayed often in chains or in positions which are demeanign. Pornography
has a direct effect on our lives through the way that it helps men to feel
taht we are inferiour and that they have a right to do what they want with
us. Men often think that if their intentions are kindly that we should not
complain. Ie that our opinion does not matter. This is very IMPORTANT as
it has implications for our lives in matters of law and government. The
law could arrest men who batter their wives, but they don't. Judges could
treat crimes against women as serious just as thy do when the crime is
against men. But they don't . Pornography is a part of this. Pornography
says, woman are objects. women are their for your (mens) pleasure. Note
that in our society men are the mainstream and women are the other.
These pictures of the planet do not cause men to rape it. Men rape the
planet because they can get economic benefit from so doing. These pictures
will not worsen the way the planet is being treated. Women cannot be
likened to the planet. Sorry to say girls, but women are in fact closer to
men, than to the planet.
