Can't recall the women's name but she wrote about her trek across the
Himalayas. She went across the base, which is unusual.  She was not
attempting to 'conquer' the mountains but to meet the people that lived
there.  Apparently she met people who had never seen 'white' people before.
I have not read the book but I saw the interview.  One of the native women
asked to see her breasts to see if she was like them.  It sounded really
interesting.

There is another book called 'Tracks' which is an old book about a woman
who travelled alone with only camels.  Cant recall the author.
