Dear Lee (and Ecofem),

Thanks Lee for your call for a practical plan. Here goes:

1. Consensus on supporting the 'braid of three principles' at Sakina 2000:

(i) World peace (Sakina is the Spirit of Tranquillity).
(ii) Biodiversity renewal - turning the tide for the tree of life.
(iii) Restoration of respect and empowerment to the Feminine.

2. We set up cooperative resourcing though a collective internet site
and a dedicated E-mailing list-server so we can each contribute creatively
together in a complementary way and participate in the evolving process.

3. We work cooperatively to secure grant funding of $100,000 as a
setting-up fund to secure a conference venue, a moderate size festival
venue and to begin conveying and advertising. This can be achieved through
funding grants for a conference in the categories of 'biodiversity
conservation' and/or 'resolving deadly conflict' the direct peace issue -
and through commercial sponsorship. We might appreciate a few experienced
radical ecology 'heavyweights' here.

4. We in turn bring others we know into the consensus for action. We
invite Greenpeace, Amnesty, World Wildlife Fund etc. to be involved in the
event. We use our varied contacts to facilitate involving musicians and
keynote speakers who will really contribute to a watershed conscious
climacteric vison of peace, restoration of biodiversity and cultural
reunion through respect of the Feminine.

5. There are many major socio-political issues we can open up for
discussion in terms of 'radical ecology' as part of the strategy of
mounting a major 'protest' conference and festival. We need to think about
transformative social issues in ecosystemic society together in advance and
we need to try to cover every aspect of biodiversity restoration in the
planning.

6. Sakina is realizing the Tree of Life - undoing the Fall -
'reweaving' (2,3) the garment of diversity. That's why we are taking peace
to Jerusalem - "city of peace" to heal the millennium - the 'greening of
eschatology', as Catherine Keller (1) expressed it so well.

7. We need to begin building 'peace links' with women in Israel and the
West Bank to begin healing the violent divisons of the patriarchy through
the feminine vision of the oneness of life. Islam of course extends all
the way to Indonesia where this weekend they were praying to Allah for rain
to flush away the smoke of forest-burning.

I am proceeding on the basis that life depends on this - that we can,
through the braid of gender reunion, save an additional 30% of the
remaining biodiversity on the planet. If we pool our creative vision in
respect of the feminine, the flood-tide will unfold.

"We have one circle of protection to draw.
When the rains of plenty fall,
they will thunder for immortal diversity."

love and regards, Chris King,
