Subject: National Wildlife Federation's Population Fast Action Network
Population and the Environment:
Take Action!
Save lives and protect the environment! How? Become one of
more than 550 members of our Fast Action Network!
World population is still growing by more than 81 million people a year.
This puts huge pressures on our Earth. Family planning could prevent
these pregnancies, and save many women's lives. It is cheap, needed,
and too often unavailable. The Fast Action Network is a nationwide
phone, e-mail, and fax network that pushes our government to do its fair
share toward making voluntary family planning available to everyone. It is
good for people, and good for the planet!
Want to become more involved? Choose one of three levels:
State Coordinator: Fax machine/email needed for this. On short notice,
you will receive a fax or an email with the details of an urgent message.
You need to call your legislator -let him or her know how you feel- and
then pass the message on to five District Coordinators, either by fax,
email or phone.
District Coordinator: You will get a call, email or fax from the State
Coordinator assigned to you. Call your legislator, and then pass the
message on to five Fast Action Callers by phone or fax.
Fast Action Caller: You will get a phone call or fax from your District
Coordinator. All you need to do is call your legislator.
For each person who receives a fax, we hope to generate 31messages
to Capitol Hill in less time than it would take one person to write, address
and mail a letter. Congressional staff tell us that this kind of action makes
a difference!
