I have a question about "ecofeminism" in general. In a paper posted on
the internet by Nancy Paterson at

 gopher://echonyc.com/00/Cul/Cyber/paterson

Paterson refers to "the association of the feminine with 'nature'
advocated by eco-feminists and theorists such as Camille Paglia" (I've
also seen this intimated in Carolyn Merchant's criticism of
ecofeminism).

My understanding is that ecofeminism asserts that this **historical**
linking of woman/nature was a 'tool' of patriarchal capitalism to
oppress both women and nature. Aren't ecofems saying "hey! women
aren't more *natural* than men"?? Aren't we trying to break free of
this dichotomy?

thanks for your info-
