SCWSA Conference Pre-registration Deadline--February 20.
Pre-register by Feb. 20 for the South Central Women's Studies Association
Conference, Friday and Saturday, March 6-7, Houston, TX., at the
University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Adrienne Rich, preeminent feminist theorist and one of this country's most
distinguished poets, will lecture Friday evening, March 6. More than 250
faculty and graduate students from throughout the USA and Canada will
present papers in anthropology, art, family therapy, health, history,
literature, pedagogy, philosophy, and rhetoric; practitioners, community
organizers, and feminist activists will describe their work and discuss
current issues arising from it; and creative writers will read their
poetry and fiction. More than one third of the conference sessions concern
literature. Other conference events include a feminist book exhibit and a
professionally curated, juried exhibition of women's art chosen from
Houston's distinguished and diverse feminist art community.
Student/limited means pre-registration total: $30.00; non-student
pre-registration: $60.00. (Registration at conference: $35.00 student,
$70.00 non-student.)
