Lawton for Lieutenant Governor

This November the citizens of Wisconsin can regain control of their state
government -- if the members of the coalition, who worked so hard to get
the Mining Moratorium passed, continue to work together to elect a new
governor, lieutenant governor and a progressive slate of senators &
representatives.

Ed Garvey and Barbara Lawton are good, electable candidates who will work
for the people and the environment. But they can only do this with your
help. The campaign needs volunteers to staff offices & events, volunteers
to drive candidates, dates/places for the candidates to speak, people to
write letters to the editors, people to get out the vote in November, and
money.

For the sake of our families and future generations, please join me and a
dedicated, enthusiastic group of people determined to help the people of
Wisconsin reclaim control of their state government -- let's all help Ed
Garvey & Barbara Lawton become the new governor and lieutenant governor in
November.

Thank you.

Ten Reasons to Vote for Garvey * Lawton

1) They voluntarily limit contributions to $100 per election and will enter
office with no strings attached. The best minds, not the fattest wallets
will come to the table of decision making.

2) Garvey * Lawton will restore the environmental watchdog Public
Intervenor and expand its resources. The DNR will once again be independent
of the Governor's office.

3) Garvey * Lawton will devote money to local solutions to public safety.
More police and more drug prevention make schools and streets safer, not
just more prisons.

4) Garvey * Lawton do not believe solutions to all problems rest in
Madison. Protection of local groundwater, land use decisions, school
spending and testing, are better understood locally than in the state
capitol.

5) Garvey * Lawton will not wait to tell the truth about sentencing, public
safety, W-2, taxes.

6) Garvey * Lawton will reduce property tax by removing costs of education
from this regressive tax. Reduction of class size is the most important
reform we can implement.

7) Our sons and daughters must have access to all the education they can
absorb and not graduate with staggering debt. The Board of Regents will
reflect diverse points of view and thos appointed will be committed to
public education.

8) Solicitation of funds from public employees or companies doing business
with the state, and acceptance of free trips or gifts by public officials
will be banned from day one.

9) Protection of the family farm, not huge corporate hog or chicken farms
will be the goal.

10) Term limits for governor will be implemented; a referendum on strict
limits on campaign spending will be demanded. Wisconsin will regain our
reputation for clean elections, clean government, clean environment.
