FYI...Stefanie ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- Gender, Place and Culture: a journal of feminist geography CALL FOR PAPERS Themed issue 'On the boundaries and spaces of feminist geography' We are delighted to announce that, from 1999 (volume 6) Gender, Place and Culture will be increasing the number of issues per year from three to four. Marking this expansion of the journal we wish to include a themed issue that will explore and reflect upon the place of feminist geography, both within the discipline of geography and in relation to scholarship more generally. It is our intention to foster dialogue and enhance connections among those interested in and influenced by feminist scholarship in geography. This might include consideration of the influence (or lack of it) of feminist perspectives in particular geographic specialisms, together with discussions of the impact of the work of feminist geographers on scholars beyond the discipline. It is our intention that the issue will include consideration of teaching and pedagogy as well as research. We also wish to explore the interface between activism and scholarship. Manuscripts addressing any of these concerns are most welcome. Contributions may take the form of main articles (up to 7,000 words) or shorter items for the Viewpoints section. All essays will be subject to the normal review process. Please follow the notes for contributors published on the inside back cover of Gender, Place and Culture. All submissions for this themed issue should be submitted by 30th September (four copies please) and should include on the title page 'submitted for the themed issue on boundaries and spaces of feminist geography'. It would be most helpful if potential contributors could contact Lynn Staeheli as soon as possible to indicate their intention to submit a manuscript for the themed issue.
