I was glad to see someone critisize the Monkey Poem. It was a great
example of anthroprmorphism. I took several college courses in Animal
Behavior and one of the things I learned is to seperate human behavior
from animal behavior and only look at how the two are linked in the
context of natural selection and evolution and not in the context of
what is bad or good.
This poem was probably written before it was widely known that many
species of monkeys and other social animals commit infanticide;
especially if there is a new alpha male in the group.
