Well it looks like he who writes about asshole's now writes about "village communities", which is what I mentioned mentioned further back on this list (if you remember) as being the meeting place of many women who used to come together in communal work. Much of this has been lost in todays nuclear family society and, at least in my country, there are moves by authorities to discourage women from going out into the community to get paid work if they wish to and therefore having more influence on policy making in society. There is no village community evolution in my country. Rather the Seinfeld type self obsession with materialism and self still reigns supreme. Unfortunately, we have caught much of this from overseas influences which have even influenced the way we dress and promoted the junk food outlets to encourage more meat eating, more hard hoofed animals to devastate out lands leading to the clearance of our remaining stands of inland trees (not worth keeping to cattle ranchers).
