I found Jake's reminder that anatomy isn't destiny for men AND women to be important. Being treated crappy because one has a penis or breasts or whatever is backwards, simple thinking, etc. Since when does it become a contest to see who is being more crappy than another? Does it make a difference? What's gained? I value men who try and see beyond a longlived patriarchial culture and see, feel, and work beyond oppression of any kind. I value women who do the same: who reflect, think, and remain open to all things--including the fact that men can be feminists, can be aware, can be both in the culture of oppression and move beyond it.
