I agree with Lorraine's analysis of masculinist authorities in this
world. By the way, a feminist Kathy Jones (1993) in her book Compassionate
Authority makes the same argument for Margaret Thatcher. She also
clearly states what feminism is about is deconstructing and
reworking socially constructed masculine political leadership styles.
Again I am not attacking "men" nor male leaders -- to quote Jones:
The term masculine or masculinity does not imply the behavior of men.
Masculinity (and you can say the same of femininity) is not synonymous
with men, but as a signifier of a particular embodied practice defined
culturally as masculine regardless of the sex of the person engaging in it.
