I just found the following announcement in my school's (the
law school at UC/Berkeley) bulletin. I know it is open to
the public; I don't know how much it will cost for
non-student non-attorneys.
Environmental Justice Conference
"Environmental Justice: What Is It and How Do We Get
There?"
This conference is being presented by the Standing Committee
on Legal Services to the Poor, and the Legal Services
Section of the State Bar of California. It will take place
on Saturday, November 5, from 8:00am to 4:45 pm in Booth
Auditorium [at Boalt Hall in Berkeley, California]. The
featured lunch speaker is Professor Robert Bullard.
Workshops include "Environmental Justice and Building
Sustainable Communities," "Your Right to Information," and
"Cleaning Up Existing Facilities." Registration begins at 8
am. Fees (including lunch): $25 for students, $50 for
non-profit attorneys, $90 for attorneys in private practice.
