when i said you sounded like a bigot last week, i meant exactly that.
please take that and think about it. it does not mean you are evil
and bad. it means you should reflect on your comments and really take
seriously some of the offensive things that have been written on this
listserve about gay/lesbian/bisexuality.
Angela, most white people don't realize how racist they are until it
is pointed out to them. most men wouldn't think they were sexist; in
fact, many men in my life pride themselves are how they are SO
different from most men and they are the good, non-sexist guys. sure
they are most of the time and i love them and they wouldn't be in my
life if i thought they were complete sexist jerks, but hey, sometimes
they are sexist. sometimes well-intentioned open-minded individuals
(like your self) say the most bigoted things (like "how can same-sex
couples have a family?" and that homosexuals have no place in the
overpopulation debate) and we have to point it out. i will continue to
say it like it is--when i see something on this list i think is bigoted
or i disagree entirely and i feel strongly about it, i will say so. i
am sorry if that hurts you're feelings, but i think it is honest and
healthy and i do not do it to name-call and hurt people, i do it
because it has to be said.
