For some time, Monsanto has been maneuvering to acquire a position of world
dominance in the agricultural industry through its Roundup resistant
genetically engineered seeds and other products. It is a forerunner in this
field and is becoming bigger yet due to its purchase by American Home
Products (Advil, Robutussin, etc.)
Its goal is to have a total monopoly of all seeds used to grow crops (and it
is close to this with the seeds used to produce canola oil, one of the more
dangerous "health foods products.") It has completed negotiations to
provide "terminator seeds," seeds that have been genetically engineered so
that they are sterile. This obliges farmers to buy seeds from Monsanto
instead of harvesting seeds for use in future planting, a practice that has
now become a felony.
In order to have the maximum impact possible, I am keeping this post short,
but it is extremely important that you notify everyone on your e-mail list
and to tell everyone on their lists to do the same that Monsanto has to be
stopped. The best way to stop Monsanto is to boycott their products. Do
not fall asleep on the job. Monsanto has plans that would completely alter
the entire global food and agricultural industry, plans that would make
nearly all food grown from seeds into genetically engineered products of
unpredictable consequences. It is not necessary to label foods that are so
produced as genetically engineered foods, and the foods involved are staples
in many diets: NewLeaf potatoes (which is legally a pesticide not a food),
corn, soybeans, etc.
Please boycott Monsanto and ask everyone you know to do the same. Here is a
partial list of products:
Basically, Monsanto is dominant in several areas: herbicides, artificial
sweeteners, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and genetically
engineered seeds; but it has a significant presence in many additional
areas, including birth control pills, insomnia drugs, etc.
Its herbicides are sold under many different names: Roundup and the entire
Ortho line of garden products and books.
The sweeteners also have a variety of names, including NutraSweet and Equal.
Ambien is the insomnia treatment and Arthrotec the arthritis drug.
Then there are the seeds and foods, including what has already been
mentioned on the list, NewLeaf potatoes. It has genetically engineered
soybeans, corn, cotton, and many other products and is presenting its
"science" as a solution to global hunger and so on. For many years, I have
believed that the primary occupation of medium to competent black magicians
from by-gone eras is advertising-and you better believe it! On the web
site, you see Tibetan children looking all happy because Monsanto is there!
