As an aside to Constance Russell's post about RF studentships: It's good to see this from the Rockefeller Foundation. It seems they have changed their political spots. In the early part of this century the RF put huge sums of money into eugenic research, right up to AND including the nazi experiments during the holocaust. They even had a connection with the company which supplied zircon gas! Further Reading: "The Nazi Connection-Eugenics, American Racism, and German National Socialism" by Stefan Kuhl....... Interesting that both the UK and US Eugenics societies still exist under new names. The UK Eugenics Society is now known as The Galton Institute, and the US Eugenics Society is the Society for the study of Social Biology! ~R. gone offlist.
