The University of California, Irvine invites applications and nominations for
the position of Dean of the School of Social Ecology. We seek an
internationally recognized scholar within the academic community who will
bring vision and innovative leadership to the School. Candidates must have
proven administrative ability and a demonstrated commitment to academic
excellence to further advance the School's standing in research,
undergraduate and graduate education, and service. The scholarly
achievements of this individual should be appropriate for an appointment as
full Professor, and should strengthen an existing area of excellence in one
of the School's four departments: Criminology, Law and Society,
Environmental Analysis and Design, Psychology and Social Behavior, or Urban
and Regional Planning.
Applications and nominations will be received until the position has been
filled. However, the screening process will begin immediately, and
individuals are encouraged to apply prior to December 21,1998.
