Whether they are separate but connected entities, two aspects of a single essence, or whether these are simply two ways to use our metaphysical structure as a mental technology with which to view that which cannot be grasped without human categories is an issue which is a matter of debate within the craft. And yes, they communicate to us - their spirits enter us when we "draw down the moon" or "draw down the sun." Whether this is true communication with an other or simply a way to access our higher and deeper selves is a question which can equally be asked of Christian prayer. The results are the same; guidance, acceptance and understanding. Joe
