Yes, I agree, and have witnessed how kids mistreat animals, especially when
they themselves are feeling mistreated! I am not pure here, in my youth I
didn't understand about pets, and am guilty of handing one to the pound. I
had no education about it, and in those days it was like an exchange, or so I
was told. We didn't know about euthanasia, etc. I was taught that was the
compassionate and reasonalbe thing to do, but we know better now, and I've
grown up. these animals are totally worthy of our love and affection, and
they give us back a hundred fold. It is in their nature to bond with us, and
once they do, we become a part of their life-story that is very important to
them.
Love, jane

Subject: Poem in reply, with thanks for your wisdom
Hi Joe,
Here's my offering, and my self-introduction; some here have seen it before,
but for the rest of you speakers, here's me:
the Summer of my Enchantment
Prophecy and pictures are stronger than reason,
and a person can gaze and gaze,
encountering what they only guessed at,
like happening on an unremembered lake in an
unlogged forest,
searching maps for its name, but not finding it written....
In the city of Dreams, there's an antique bookstore.
One day, browsing old picture books,
each like a relic of another life or time,
you find a photo of a lake you dimly remember,
and you can't put it down. Your fingers shake just to
touch it. You inqure the price:
out of reach!
So you keep returning and gazing, hoping
for a "sale." Books go on sale, but never that one.
You ask why, explaining how much you want it;
the Bookman replies, "everyday people ask for
this book. It's never on sale."
"The lake, though," he adds, " is really there.
but it's not in the maps, never documented."
"Most people," he says, "who inquire, actually
do know where it is, and have been there. they just can't
remember the trail, or think they are too old for the journey."
"If you remember," he told me, "go now,
and quit looking in picture books."
"Go, go!", he was nearly shouting.
and that's the reason I'm on an unmarked trail,
without a map, without a guide,
but with no thought of returning home.
I look to the moon and stars for guidance,
but they just repeat, like the bookman,
"go, go!"
I am trying to get there before I can no longer remember.
Blessings, Jane

Joe, the poem to Salman Rushdie is synchronicity, as I'm just reading the
satanic verses; awesome. Thanks.

Sorry, Angela, but you are describing the Garden of Eden, and God the Father,
definitely said, no exceptions, we were out of there! He posted an angel with
flaming torch to guard the gates, so we could never, mind you NEVER, go back.
So it seems to me, if we want to re-create Eden, you might even say if it is
god's will we do so, it's up to us and us alone. but I have always been
taught it's god's will we DON'T do this; that he wants us to continue to
suffer for this "original" sin so that we will never again have Eden on earth,
but seek it only in heaven. This I do not, personally, buy. It doesn not fit
my personal view of deity. But I am open to your view that we can have it
both ways, so to speak; if you are right, God the Father has changed his mind.
but here's what I really think: each of us has a spark of the divine in us,
and collectively, that is "God": father, mother, whoever. We seek him all our
lives, she speaks to us in many voices. We are the flame-throwers of the
flame; Eden IS us, and you are right: we can make it whole again. It is, in
fact, here now, if we but embraced it. But we must, MUST, come to realize
that these sparks of divinity we carry need to unite in love, the love that IS
god, before anything can happen. Many seem to me ready for Eden, but fighting
it with division. Eden is inclusiveness. BUT, drawing lines cancels out the
vision.
Love, Jane

Dear Sakina and Ecofem,
Here is prophetic Earth shock from Marion Woodman and Elinor Dickson
"Dancing in the Flames: The Dark Goddess and the New Mythology" - the end
of "Chaos and Creativity".
This is a koan for the millennium. Notice the male role here too ->
"The Virgin is moving towards a consciousness that has never before been
possible on the planet. In her embodyment she is known. She is recognised
by her beloved. She receives the penetration of the spirit that will change
consciousness forever."
"Her coming is heralded by the following dream: I am standing by the sea.
A great tidal wave is steadily rolling in. I am terrified. Gradually I
descern a large, chocolate-coloured woman riding majestic on the crest of
the wave. She is triumphant, her body poised, her arm uplifted like
Delacroix's liberty. She rides her inevitable way. Suddenly I am a
moleclule of energy in the wave. My friends and I are all molecules in the
wave, each molecule dancing with every other molecule in love. We are all
dancing with the momentum of the wave that will bring Sophia to land."
The Queen of the South shall return and rise up in judgement with the men
of this generation. ... I am dark but comely O ye daughters of Jerusalem!
Now to achieve this together!
See you at the wedding?
love, Chris.
