In Australia, Melborne March, 2000 (if I am not mistaken) during the
same year as the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games will be held another
important UN conference as part of Agenda 21. It is part of the original
Earth Summit on Land Use to include and highlight deforestation,
dessertification and other related land use issues.
>From posts to and from Oz Greens, it would appear that at the very least
Steph from Sen. Brown's office is interested in opening this door to
global awareness. I have a feeling that Ian Cohen would appreciate all
effort on our behalf.
Me being of little resource can hardly make a dent. But the opportunity
to participate as a speaker, or cause a raucus as a sign toting, media
grapping earth citizen in at least the Olympic event to focus media on
the coincidental UN event might be something worth investigating for
those with resources.
