Dear ecofem,
The Republicans are exultant not just because they managed to tarnish a
Democrat president, but because they also helped corporate America by
discrediting, in the public's minds, the fairness of sexual harassment cases.
By pursuing, at the Presidential level, a creditless s/h case, and linking it
with a sex scandal, they have done a great disservice to women who are being
sexually harassed at work, or have been, and who seek justice because of it.
I am not a conspiracy theorist at heart, but I do believe that the Congress
has proven that they no longer represent the people, but that they are
stewards whose tenure exists to sell corporate bullshit (our real rulers are
global corporations) to the people. The Republicans especially, but not
solely, are part of a grand ritual, a High Mass, designed to involve us in a
"show" of democracy so that we will not mind that there is no more democracy.
We need to shout this from the rooftops until everyone can see it.
