TOWSON UNIVERSITY
Professor of Women's Studies and Director of The National Center
for Curriculum Transformation Resources on Women
POSITION: The Institute for Teaching and Research on Women and the Women's
Studies Program at Towson University are accepting applications for a
senior level, full-time, tenure track position to teach Women's Studies
and direct the National Center for Curriculum Transformation Resources on
Women, a project of the Institute. Courses to be taught in the Women's
Studies Program will be primarily at the undergraduate level but may
include teaching in the graduate program, depending on expertise. The
position will begin fall 1999. Salary is competitive.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the
following:
* An earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
* A minimum of eight years of college level academic experience
teaching women's studies courses in either a traditional academic
epartment or a formal Women's Studies program.
* A record of scholarly publications in women's studies.
* At least three years of significant academic administrative
experience.
* Demonstrated leadership in curriculum transformation on women,
including multicultural and international perspectives.
* Successful record in external fund raising and resource
development.
* Interest in and ability to lead initiatives for NCCTRW, including
but not limited to, frequent conference presentations, Web page
development, marketing of publications, and entrepreneureal activities.
DEADLINE: March 15, 1999. Applications should include a letter of
application, c.v., and names of 3 references. Transcripts of academic

WOMEN'S STUDIES PROGRAM: The Women's Studies program at Towson was founded
in 1973. It involves over 40 University faculty as affiliates and a few
more as Women's Studies appointments. It is a program within the College
of Liberal Arts and offers a major, minor, and Master's degree.
NCCTRW: The National Center for Curriculum Transformation Resources on
Women was established in 1993 as a project of the Towson University
Institute for Teaching and Research on Women. Originally funded by The
Ford Foundation and FIPSE, NCCTRW's mission is to create a national,
centralized source of curriculum transformation information for faculty,
teachers, and students. NCCTRW produces a Women in the Curriculum series
of publications and maintains an extensive Web page

TOWSON UNIVERSITY: Towson University, one of the eleven campuses of the
University System of Maryland, and the second largest public institution
