Dear ECOFEMers: In an attempt to extend the geographic boundaries of discussion, and to continue discussion about biodiversity, I thought I'd let everyone know that the New Zealand Department of Conservation and Ministry for the Environment have released New Zealand's draft Biodiversity Strategy. This strategy has taken considerable time (as in years not months) to produce, and it is (presumably) informed by the biodiversity issues which are manifest around the world, not just here in New Zealand. The draft strategy is open for comment and submissions--and I don't see why global citizens should refrain from commenting--so if anyone is interested in finding out more about the document or submissions process, you can contact the NZ Biodiversity website at: http://www.biodiv.govt.nz Stefanie Rixecker [EMAIL PROTECTED] ************************************ Dr. Stefanie S.
