Dear Heather,
Yes, contacting Amnesty International and the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP) based in Nairobi, Kenya will help. However, to be more
effective, the issue has turned political. Thus your best efforts should be
aimed at the Government of Kenya, to show it that the world is watching.
Email does not work, Kenya is not fully plugged in at high government
levels yet. It is better to send letters to the President, Daniel Arap Moi
and to his High Commissions (embassies) in your country. If you wish to
send a letter to Moi, here is the address.
His Excellency Daniel Arap Moi
President of Kenya
Parliament Offices
Nairobi, Kenya
Make sure that you send copies to Amnesty International so they can track
the extent of the effort.
