Oops part of that message fell out somehow. Regarding international
complicity in the slaughter in Rwanda, I meant to refer to a recent
edition of the Australian investigative journalism program, "Four
Corners". Unfortunately the transcript of that edition is not online
yet. But basically, they interviewed the head of some UN investigation
into the situation at the time. This person claims that the
investigation has led him to be almost certain who was responsible for
the downing of the presidential flight, which triggered the sudden
outbreak of genocide in Rwanda, but he could not say who it was because
"people would be placed in danger". I don't know, but there was a lot
of talk in the program about the questionable behaviour of the
militaries that were hanging round in Uganda at the time (including US
forces), and waited for the genocide to stop before they went in a
pretended the delay was an honest mistake. America may turn out not to
be the main international player, but it is probably incorrect to
suggest that it was not involved in a way that deliberately contributed
to the genocide that took place.
