Dear Bob,
I share your concern, as you probably know, and I believe most here share it
as well. It seems to me that a necessary first step is to recognize our
differences and points of dispute and, very frankly but with great compassion
for ourselves and everyone, to acknowledge our "rough spots" and take
responsibility for promoting a global consciousness. None of us can do it
alone; that's the name of the game! Many on this list are more active "global
warriors" than me, and are more knowledgeable, more kind, more discerning. I
marvel at the eclecticism of the voices. Nevertheless, I dip my oar in for us
to continue helping each other see and understand the bits of the puzzle that
make up the whole, but also never to lose sight of the big picture of
planetary peril. I wish I had the "magic" to snap my fingers and immediately
we all know what is best to do, but, as you know, we have to forge it piece by
piece. Unfortunately, we are running out of time. So I turn it back to the
group: how do we materialize planetary action and compassion amongst us?
Love, Jane
