I am a Sufi, acclaimed as such throughout Afghanistan during my wanderings
there. I don't intend to follow in al-Hallaj's footsteps, but pleae note
virtually all the great Sufi prophets were repressed by the orthodoxy. I
intend to reform Islam in love, liberate the 'umma' for all time and end
jihad. What is your objection? This comes with justice for all, especially
the women of the fourth world.
I know Christians circumcise too (Mary was said to be circumcised to forgo
pleasure) but that doesn't make it okay. I abrogate it now! You are
defending the indefensible. Apologise to all the cirumcised women or stand
hedged.
Afghani women make a desperate plea for reproductive freedom - that they
don't have it and that they want democracy and freedom of reproduction,
dress, association and education. They are being denied it in the name of
Islam, just as pregnant women have beeen disembowelled in the name of Islam
in Algeria. You claimed Islam already provides womens needs in 'protecting
women' for their own good. This is an insult to their plight. Yes I am in
communication with them.

The track record of any womens' movement depends on its integrity.
My pages commend the womens activism of those supporting Anwar and his wife
and daughters, but not the Pakistani fundamentalist women throwing their
jewelery into the war chest for international jihad.
I recognise the very good work Khatami and the women of Iran are doing
especially in the last local body elections. I regognise they have called
on the Taliban in support of their sisters in Afghanistan. This spirit
needs to go much further to espouse the fundamental freedoms of women world
wide.
My pages also rightly note the dissonance between the prominent support for
the Sudan Islamicist regime guilty of genocide of 2,000,000 by starvation
to impose Shariat and the blaket refusal of the same Islamic women to
accept that slavery is being imoposed on the people of the South including
enforced circumcisions by Islamic traders.
My pages also contain feminists crying out in outrage at Islam in many
countries.
