My story was not about my exploits, but rather about my wife's ordeal, and the effect hearing of it had on me, which was to personalize a political issue in which I might otherwise not have become involved. I do find it curious, however, that nicole asserts her experiences as authentic, absolute, of profound significance, and archetypically relevant, while belittling, ridiculing or sarcastically dismissing mine.
