That is so hard to answer, because my beliefs tell me
that it is "people like them..." who are causing much
of our troubles. Maybe that should be my next personal
goal...

This concerns me. Isn't it the notion that we, as a
species, are better than/more important than/ overseers
of other species and our biosphere that got us into
this mess? I think that to be truly accepting of
diversity, we need to give equal respect to everything
- every living being, every idea, etc. And that too,
is a pretty tall order.
