25 years ago today, then Senator Gaylord Nelson organized and got started the first Earth Day. Yesterday, President Clinton honored him with the highest award a citizen in this country can recieve, the Presidential Medal of Honor. Today, in our nation's capital 300,000 people have come together to celebrate Earth Day, and it is a wake up call to all citizen's to work together to defeat the corporate attack on our environmental laws. Please take the time this week, during business hours, to call President Clinton and demand that this legislation is vetoed. At stake is far too much, the gains we have made in the past 25 years are about to be completely gutted, and the Earth and her children will have no way to defend themselves from the corporate machinations and degradation. The White House number is 202/476-1111.
