A great source of info on the latest congressional legislation,
including HR 9, salvage logging, takings, revisions of the Endangered
Species Act and the Clean Water Act, etc, etc. etc, is the Sierra Club
action-alert mailing list. (this is not a discussion list, however.)
This is from the trailer from one of their alerts:

You don't need to be a Sierra Club member to subscribe to the list.
You will get about three messages per week chock full of info on the
various bills, along with some good media analysis, congressional
e-mail address, and more.
The Sierra Club URL is "http://www.sierraclub.org". You can also
subscribe to the list there, or read previous postings on the list.
For full text of bills, check out Thomas:Legislative Information on
the Internet (if you haven't already). Their address is
"http://thomas.loc.gov"
