Fines against abortion foes stand WASHINGTON (AP) - The Supreme Court Monday refused to spare Operation Rescue founder Randall Terry and other anti-abortion activists nearly $600,000 in fines and lawyer fees stemming from a campaign to blockade New York City area abortion clinics a decade ago. The justices, without comment, rejected an appeal in which seven individuals and two anti-abortion groups challenged the contempt-of-court fines and fee awards.
