EdGateway is proud to announce two new services offered in conjunction with the annual conference of the North American Association for Environmental Education, scheduled for August 26-30, 1999 in Cincinnati, Ohio. AVAILABLE NOW: This year's NAAEE conference theme is "Environmental Education and Education Reform" -- a topic that in some way pertains to virtually all educators. We know the interest in these two fields extends far beyond those able to attend the conference, so we're making it possible for you to participate in related discussions. Those planning to attend can start exploring ideas ahead of time and hit Cincinnati ready and raring to go! You can now join an exciting, new discussion group in which experts from both communities will answer questions, exchange ideas, challenge assumptions, and get you thinking about the issues that both unify and differentiate these two strongly related fields. One of the opening questions: how do we best fit an interdisciplinary approach to education into what is fast becoming a disciplinary standards-based system? You are both welcome and encouraged to initiate discussion strands, raise questions, offer opinions, and participate fully in this national discussion on education reform and environmental education. To join the discussion, go to www.edgateway.net/naaee/conference. Stimulating email messages and responses will soon be coming your way. Conference and hotel registration information is also available online at the same site. Act soon; the early bird registration deadline is July 16. COMING SOON: Watch your email inbox for an announcement about the online version of the entire conference schedule. For the first time in NAAEE history, participants will be able to read through the schedule before arriving at the conference, develop and download your own personalized schedule, identify people with similar interests, and even email them ahead of time to inquire about their programs. These services are developed by WestEd in association with the Environmental Education and Training Partnership, which is funded by U.S. EPA Office of Environmental Education. ************************************ Dr. Stefanie S.
