EPA to restrict pesticides on fruit 

WASHINGTON (AP) - The EPA is set to issue new restrictions for two
pesticides that are widely used on fruit and vegetables. Some uses of
methyl parathion will be banned, including its application on apples and
other fruit, and azinphos-methyl also will be restricted, according to
sources familiar with the EPA's plans. The action stems from concerns that
the pesticides can cause nervous system damage, especially in young
children. EPA Administrator Carol Browner was to make the announcement on
