Union protests women in pants rule LONDON (AP) - Two women security guards at London's Eurostar rail terminal have been threatened with disciplinary action for wearing pants instead of skirts, their union said Tuesday. The GMB union said the issue arose when a new company, Securitas, took over the Eurostar security contract last week. The company is refusing to talk to the union about the dispute, said Paul Campbell, regional organizer for GMB. "These women actually asked the management before the transfer if they could still wear trousers and were told they could," said Campbell. "Securitas employs many women at Waterloo and elsewhere and I will not allow them to set a trend where women can be discriminated against because of their sex."
