Russell, thanks for your diligence on the subject.  I checked the ingredient
of my product.  It says "aluminum alum." Alum is an old-timey astringent
that has been used medicinally for centuries. As for the aluminum part, I
had heard that the aluminum "scare" turned out to be erroneous.  Has anyone
else heard anything about that?  As for the third world country labor issue,
mine is manufactured in Thailand, and distributed by a company in Austin
which claims to give back 2% of profits to environmental causes. I don't
know about work conditions in Thailand, or about whether the ditributor
gives to "appropriate causes," but would like to hear if anyone has
knowledge of these things. --E.
