Deadline for submission is March 1, 2000. Details on the fellowship application can be found at http://www.perc.org/students.htm PERC research fellows are graduate students in a wide range of disciplines including economics, history, political science, public policy, engineering, the natural sciences and law. The basic requirement is that students have an interest in natural resources and the environment. They must show potential for research and writing in these areas, and preferably be working on a research paper, thesis or dissertation. They spend three months in Bozeman, Montana, researching and writing a paper under the supervision of a PERC senior associate. Fellows are required to complete a paper of publishable quality and give three seminars to outline, report on, and summarize their research findings. PERC is an internationally recognized nonprofit institute located in Bozeman, Montana. The organization's primary goal is to provide market solutions to environmental problems. PERC pioneered the approach known as free market environmentalism and conducts research in the areas of water, forestry, public lands, and endangered species, among others.
