Applicants' area of teaching and research should focus on Feminist Legal Theory/Practice and Urban Social Policy. Candidates for the position should demonstrate a strong understanding of race/ethnicity, class, gender and sexuality and how they intersect in their specific field of study. We are particularly interested in scholars/practitioners with some background or experience in legal or political advocacy at the local or state level. Possible areas of expertise might include Welfare Reform, Affirmative Action, Anti-gay legislation, or other cross-cutting issues of research and advocacy. The successful candidate will spend a 10-week quarter at UC teaching one graduate course and giving several public presentations. Candidates may apply for winter (January-March) or spring (April-June) quarter. $13,000 for the quarter will cover salary and $6,000 expenses (moving, travel, housing, research, etc.).
