Women's Studies at SOU is an interdisciplinary program offering a minor. Responsibilities include coordinating program activities, advising, supervising practicum students, recruiting students and faculty to the program, and outreach activities. In addition, the director teaches four classes over a three-quarter year, including two classes of Women in Society, the required introductory course for minors. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Women's Studies or a related field, demonstrated ability to work well collaboratively, teaching excellence, and desire to implement a creative curriculum in a student-oriented, community-activist, teaching institution. Candidates should have interdisciplinary interests and experience examining the relationship between gender, race, and class. Commitment to teaching in a Women's Studies Program necessary; administrative experience a plus.
