                     IHCMD Online Summer School

Sustaining Human Existence in Changing Conditions,
Mental Existence and Conceptual and Mental Development

Setting the Conceptual and Mental Conditions
              Beyond Religion, Philosophy and Science

                         May to August 2000

The Institute for Human Conceptual and Mental Development
(IHCMD) is presenting the second annual Online Summer School,
Sustaining Human Existence in Changing Conditions, Mental
Existence and Conceptual and Mental Development - Setting the
Conceptual and Mental Conditions Beyond Religion, Philosophy
and Science.

The Program will run from the beginning of May to the end of
August 2000. The focus and concentration of the Program are
persisting and growing human individual, social and environmental
conditions, problems and challenges we face today, as individuals,
as societies and as a species globally.

The approach is to consider their nature and causes, answers and
solutions at the level of human mental existence and human
conceptual and mental development. It is to consider them within
the context of the fundamentals of the nature and conditions,
demands and challenges, and comprehending and managing
human mental existence. Moreover, it is to consider them within
the context of the historical path and direction of human conceptual
and mental development, of human beings trying to comprehend
and manage existence in changing conditions that has brought
humanity to where we find ourselves today.

The aim of the Program is to understand the answers and solutions
at the level of human conceptual and mental development. It is also
to consider the direction in conceptual and mental development we
need to take to deal with and address the conditions and problems
we face.

The Program will discuss an approach to human understanding
beyond religion, philosophy and science, beyond beliefs,
abstractions and conjecture to set the conceptual and mental
conditions for managing existence in equitable and sustainable
ways, in changing conditions and narrowing natural parameters.

The Program is not an electronic discussion list for open debate of
the issues. It is a study program delivered over the Internet through
a moderated mailing List.

The Program consists of the presentation, consideration and
discussion of a set of nine (9) interrelated discussion papers. It is
an introduction to the fundamentals. A four-month Summer
Program does not provide sufficient time for a detailed discussion
of the specifics of the issues.

The Program is based on a long term and ongoing study,
Sustaining Human Existence and Human Conceptual and Mental
Development (SHEHCMD) Study, of the Institute for Human
Conceptual and Mental Development (IHCMD). For information
about the SHEHCMD Study and the Institute see the IHCMD web
site at <http://go.to/ihcmd>.

The Program is free of charge, though registration will be limited to
50 participants. Registration will be on a first-come basis.

For further details and registration information go to the IHCMD
Online Summer School web page at <http://go.to/oss2000>, or
