Hello ecofem!

I'm not sure how many of you are in the Western New York, USA, area, but
in case you are, I am bringing the awesome feminist/vegetarian
thinker/writer/activist Carol J. Adams to my school, the University of
Rochester, and I'd love you all to come. She will be giving the Sexual
Politics of Meat Slideshow, which is an ecofeminist analysis of the
connections between sexism, racism, and speciesism. The slideshow will
explore the ways in which women, especially women of color, are depicted
as animals, or animal-like, and the way that animals, especially animals
destined to become "meat", are represented as female or as sex objects. it
will answer the question, how does someone become a piece of meat?

It is Tuesday, April 18th, at 7pm in the Gowen Room of Wilson Commons at
UR. A reception and book signing (free vegan food!) will follow on the 4th
floor of Wilson Commons. If you need directions or a place to stay or
anything, please just e-mail me.

I'm so excited to bring some ecofeminist action to my boring uptight
school!
