I'm writing to invite you to a new list, which is about the the healing of
the split between science/religion, old/new, and most importantly
male/female. I'm hoping it will be rollicking! Here's the info/invite:

The MAGDALEN ALIVE list is to promote all those aspects of the persona of
Magdalen that form a living, revolutionary, healing nexus in reuniting the
feminine and masculine aspects of human culture in re-paradising Earth.
The aim is not to just consider the historical Magdalen but to
embody and envision in our creative awakening transformation --which
Magdalen heralded in her transgression, her relationship with the gardener
and in her exaltation for the living future.
Aspects of the Magdalen persona that we might consider together are:
1. MAGDALEN AS TRANSGRESSOR. Magdalen or the 'sinner' as a collective
archetype of woman as free and in violation of the narrow patriarchal
morality of the day. This breaking of taboos complements the Christ's
breaking of all taboos in being acused of blasphemy, insurrection and
sorcery, or to Lilith breaking the taboos at the dawn of history.
2. MAGDALEN AS PRIESTESS PROPHETESS. Magdalen is also in the high
priestess tradition of Mariamne and carries a tradition of fertility
spanning both the Hebrew Goddess, the woman of the land, and the long
tradition of Miriam, Deborah, Rahab, and all the four 'strange women' in
Christ's genealogy. As such, she is allied with all the fertility goddesses
of ancient history as well.
3. MAGDALEN AS SPOUSE OF THE IMMORTAL GARDENER AND BRIDE QUEEN OF THE
MESSIAH. Magdalen does not just stand as a lone Goddess figure, but as a
free empowered partner in the sacred
marriage - the Song of Songs of all life. She thus represents the free
visionary feminine in complementary creative relationship with the
masculine, something the world is in urgent need of fulfilling. This is
also manifest in the equality of woman and men as priests of reality as the
Marcian tradition--which claimed its origins to be from Magdalene-- attested
to.
4. MAGDALEN AS BEARER OF THE DEEP GNOSTIC SECRET OF WISDOM IN COSMIC
KNOWING. Magdalen as the source of the gnostic inner tradition of
Christianity both represents the complementary pole to all orthodox
spirituality and the softer, cooperative vision of ultimate shamanism in
nature that the gnostic tradition celebrated.
5. MIRIAM MAGDALENA AS THE TRAVAIL WOMAN STANDING BETWEEN THE SUN AND MOON
AT THE END OF HISTORY, vulnerable, yet pregnant with the fullness of time,
borne on Shekhinah's wings and bearing from the wilderness the abundance of
paradise, returning to free the human tradition from the bondage of the
patriarchal age.
But the Magdalen Alive list is not just confined to
the persona of Magdalen, for it is a vehicle of all of us, male and female
to come alive in this very resurrection and exultation of the gardener and
the garden of immortal life, stretching before us immortal in space-time.
