Press" last Sunday, polling between
11% and 15% in some surveys, and
has chosen a woman as his running
mate. His name is Ralph Nader and HER
name is Winona LaDuke. She is a
If only Winona was running without Ralph. He's good on a lot of
environmental issues and economic issues. But, Nader refuses to
support GLBT issues, calling them "gonadal politics." Until he
supports the issues most important to me, I cannot in good conscience
vote for him, even with LaDuke as his running mate. The closest he
comes is supporting "civil unions" of the type Vermont has...which I
consider to be accepting crumbs and selling out. The type of civil
unions in Vermont are NOT equal to the rights granted by marriage.
They aren't recognized in other states or by the federal government.
Even with "civil union," we cannot sponsor foreign partners for
immigration. Even with "civil union," we don't have any federal
rights that married couples take for granted.
