Transcending Boundaries: an online-conference September 25 through October
5, 2000

Renaissance Universal will hold an online conference entitled "Transcending
Boundaries: Positive Visions of the Future." The conference will take place
from September 25 through October 5 on the Internet at
http://www.ru.org/ruforum

At the dawn of the new millennium the key to achieving a vibrant human
society will depend on positive visions for our individual and collective
lives. These paradigms depend on more than the technological and economic
models so prevalent at the end of the second millennium. The Transcending
Boundaries conference is meant to explore the new visions that will bring
about a future that cherishes life and its infinite potentialities.

Renaissance Universal, an international network of progressive thinkers and
activists, has organized "Transcending Boundaries". Renaissance Universal
publishes the international quarterly, "New Renaissance" and its web site is
located at http://www.ru.org

The conference is structured around a new publication TRANSCENDING
BOUNDARIES: Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar's Theories of Individual and Social
Transformation. The book is edited by Sohail Inayatullah and Jennifer
Fitzgerald and published by Gurukula Press in Australia. (For more
information about the book visit http://www.ru.org/newbooks.htm)

This collection of essays is the first book to explore Indian philosopher
and mystic Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar's social, scientific and spiritual
contributions to the knowledge base of humanity. The authors not only
examine how Sarkar has addressed issues in diverse fields such as political
theory, health science, macrohistory, women's studies, art history,
communication theory and ethics but as well how he has redefined current
disciplines. Indeed, Sarkar gives us a new paradigm, a new map, of how we
see others, nature, the future and ourselves.

The conference will provide attendees with the opportunity to interact with
authors of the book and explore issues of key importance in creating a
better world.
