Training Coordinator. This is a three-year contract position funded
by the Government of Canada through its contribution to the
Prototype Carbon Fund (PCF) plus program. This position will
be based in Washington, DC at the World Bank Institute, the research
and training arm of the World Bank. Stratos has been asked to identify
a list of qualified candidates for this position. The Training Coordinator
will be responsible for a range of tasks, including preparing training

for a Research Associate to work on the development of a coupled
atmosphere/ocean/ice modelling system for the eastern Canadian
Shelf. Applicants must have a Ph.D in Physical Oceanography or
Dynamic Meteorology with, preferably, a minimum of two years
experience working with numerical models of the ocean or atmosphere.
The applicants should have strong mathematical and computational
skills and be willing to continue the implementation and testing of
a z-level primitive-equation ocean model and couple this ocean
model to an ice model and an atmosphere general circulation
model. The successful applicant will work as part of a research
team and be responsible for research activities including application
of the coupled modelling system to the eastern Canadian shelf,
algorithm design and publication of the results. Salary will be

with some international and transportation experience. The person
would help to analyze, develop, and encourage the adoption of
environmental strategies to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions,
criteria air pollutants, and other pollutants related to the transportation

is a five year programme, funded by the UK Natural Environment
Research Council. The aim of COAPEC is to determine the impact on
climate, especially on European climate, of the coupling between the
Atlantic Ocean and the atmosphere, including the influence of El Nino
