Registration: Marine Conservation Biology Symposium
Registration is now open for the Second Symposium on Marine Conservation 
Biology, sponsored by Marine Conservation Biology Institute 
http://www.mcbi.org/   The event will be held from June 21-26, 2001, at San 
Francisco State University (California). It will be a forum for established 
researchers and students in natural and social sciences, marine resource 
managers, representatives of ocean-oriented NGOs, and other individual 
interested in protection, restoration and sustainable use of marine life 
and the oceans. MCBI especially encourages participation from outside North 
America. The Second Symposium will feature invited and contributed papers, 
poster sessions, area field trips, a forum on funding for research and 
other policy issues, skills workshops and more. For registration, 
submission of abstracts for presentations, and other details, please visit 
http://www.mcbi.org/ Attendance will be limited to 700 registrants, so we 
strongly advise that interested people register as soon as possible. 
Cosponsors for the Second Symposium include the Society for Conservation 
Biology, the President's Council on Environmental Quality, and the US 
Department of the Interior.
