Job Opening: Visiting Professor of Environmental Studies, Denison
University, Granville, Ohio USA

The Environmental Studies (ES) Program, Denison University, seeks
candidates for a senior level, full-time, one-to-two-year position
beginning August, 2001. Preference will be given to candidates at an
Associate or Full professor level. Candidates should have rigorous
interdisciplinary training and extensive experience in environmental
studies/science. We are especially interested in persons with experience in
teaching an interdisciplinary "Introduction to ES" course and additional
courses in the candidate's area(s) of interest; advising of senior research
also expected. Candidates should demonstrate excellence in environmentally
relevant teaching and innovative ideas for incorporating hands-on,
experiential student opportunities.

We seek a diverse population of applicants to respond to this announcement.
It is inherent in our mission to provide our students with a variety of
perspectives regarding environmental issues, and to integrate those points
of view in our efforts to solve real-world problems. Our interests
highlight the need to better represent disadvantaged groups and to
incorporate minority views both in our curriculum and in our
efforts to model responsible environmental behavior for our University and
for the community beyond. Denison University is an Affirmative Action/
Equal Opportunity Employer.
Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.

Facilities include a nationally recognized, historic, energy efficient
"green" building, state-of-the-art GIS lab, and 350-acre Biological
Reserve. Our ES Program thrives on the presence of a committed core of
interdisciplinary faculty and involvement by nearly every discipline
on campus. See more information at: http://www.denison.edu/enviro.

Please send letter of application along with curriculum vitae, a statement
describing views on teaching ES in a liberal arts context, and contact
information for three references (names, phone numbers, email, and mailing
addresses) to: Dr. Abram Kaplan, Director of ES, Denison
University, Granville, OH 43023. Review of applications will begin January
16th, 2001 and continue until the position is filled.
