scholar
in feminist philosophy.  This position is to replace Nancy Tuana who is
leaving Oregon at the end of this school year to join the faculty at
Penn
State University to serve as Director of the Rock Ethics Institute.

Applications are invited for a tenure track position.  Rank open, but a
senior candidate is expected to have an outstanding record of
publication,
teaching and professional activity.  Area of Specialization is Feminist
Philosophy but the department will consider other specializations for
distinguished senior candidates only.  We are an interactive, pluralist
department committed to working within and across a variety of
philosophical orientations, including American pragmatism, analytic
philosophy, continental philosophy, non-western traditions, and feminist
and race theories.  We seek a scholar interested in interdisciplinary
work,
who can teach a wide variety of courses.  Strong research interests and
teaching experience desirable.  Teaching load of five courses per year
on a
quarter system.  Salary will be competitive, depending on
qualifications.
