Save the Planet. Keep Your Chopsticks.
China goes through more than 45 billion pairs of disposable chopsticks a
year, cutting down about 25 million trees to make them. As the Washington
Post reports on the front page today, the absurdity is sinking in: An
environmentalist movement in favor of reusable chopsticks is catching on,
with some restaurants going back to the washable variety, and individuals
carrying their personal sets around with them.
